Principles to Promote Positive Behaviour

  1. Respect and Kindness: We promote a culture of respect and kindness where every child is valued and treated with dignity. We encourage children to use magic/polite words, share with others, and show empathy towards their peers.
  2. Positive Reinforcement: We recognize and celebrate acts of kindness, cooperation, and helpfulness. Our staff will provide verbal praise, stickers, or other forms of positive reinforcement to acknowledge and encourage positive behaviors.
  3. Positive Environment: We create an environment that is rich in positive experiences, where children feel safe, valued, and supported. We incorporate positive affirmations, visual cues, and engaging activities to foster a sense of belonging and well-being.
  4. Conflict Resolution: We teach children age-appropriate conflict resolution strategies, including using words to express feelings, taking turns, and seeking adult assistance when needed. We emphasize the importance of listening to others and finding peaceful solutions to disagreements.
  5. Role Modeling: Our educators serve as positive role models for the children, demonstrating respectful and caring behavior in their interactions with both children and adults. We encourage children to learn from these positive examples.
  6. Individualized Support: We recognize that each child is unique and may require different forms of support. We are committed to understanding and addressing individual needs, including those related to behavior, in a caring and personalized manner.
  7. Family Involvement: We believe that collaboration with families is essential for promoting positive behavior. We encourage open communication with parents and guardians to ensure consistency between home and the early childhood centre.
