PMR and CPD Policy

Policy Statement

Our Centre is committed to raising the standards of achievement for all students.
In order to achieve this, the Centre is equally committed to developing and training
its entire staff.

The Purpose of Development and Training

  1. Enhance the quality of teaching and learning.
  2. Support staff in achieving their individual objectives outlined in their
    performance management review.
  3. Implement a systematic approach to development for all staff.
  4. Offer support and advice to staff members.

The Mechanisms for Development and Training

The Performance Management Review (PMR)

This process aids in identifying individual training and development needs.
The completion of the Staff Self-Review Form is integral to this process as it
helps identify and reflect upon individual training requirements.

The Personal Development Plan (PDP)

It involves coordinating information, managing the Centre’s training provisions,
and overseeing the application process. The Twinkling Stars Center Manager is
responsible for circulating course information, organizing internal training,
overseeing training funding, and contributing to the setup and monitoring of
the PMR process.

The Annual CPD Self Review

During the Summer Term, each staff member completes a review of their professional
development throughout the year. This identifies the progress made and highlights
priorities for training in the upcoming year, providing a moment for reflection
on the Self Review Form completed as part of the performance management cycle.
