Policy Statement
Twinkling Stars ECC recognizes the value of building strong partnerships with parents and guardians to support the well-being, development and learning of each child in our care. This policy outlines our commitment to engaging and collaborating with parents in a respectful, inclusive, and transparent manner.
Procedures for Partnership with Parents
-
Open Communication: The center will foster open, transparent, and two-way communication with parents and guardians. We will provide multiple channels for communication, including in-person meetings, phone calls, emails, newsletters, and a secure online platform for sharing information and updates.
-
Welcoming Environment: The centre will strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for parents and guardians. We will encourage their involvement and participation in various aspects of the centre’s activities, events, and decision-making processes.
-
Parent Involvement: Opportunities for parent involvement will be provided through volunteer programs, parent education workshops, family events, and advisory groups. The centre will seek input from parents on matters that affect the well-being and development of their children.
-
Sharing Information: The centre will regularly share information with parents about their child’s daily experiences, learning activities, and developmental progress. This will include updates on curriculum, individual assessments, and any concerns or achievements observed in the classroom.
-
Parent-Teacher Meetings: Scheduled parent-teacher meetings will be held to provide opportunities for in-depth discussions about each child’s development, strengths, and areas for growth. These meetings will allow for collaborative goal-setting and action planning between parents and teachers.
-
Respect for Diversity: The Centre recognizes and respects the diversity of families, including their cultural, linguistic, and religious backgrounds. Efforts will be made to accommodate the unique needs and preferences of each family, and to celebrate the diversity within our community.
-
Parent Education and Support: The Centre will offer support to parents to enhance their understanding of child development, positive parenting strategies, and ways to support their child’s learning at home. Workshops, seminars, and informational materials will be provided to assist parents in their role as primary educators.
-
Feedback Mechanisms: The Centre will establish formal and informal mechanisms for parents to provide feedback, suggestions, or concerns. This may include surveys, suggestion boxes, and regular opportunities for dialogue with Centre management and staff.
-
Confidentiality and Privacy: All information shared by parents will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and respect. The Centre will adhere to strict privacy policies and procedures to safeguard the personal information and privacy of families.
-
Collaboration on Policies and Procedures: Parents will be invited to provide input and feedback on Centre policies and procedures that affect their children’s wellbeing and learning journey. Their perspectives will be considered in decision-making processes, ensuring that the Centre’s practices are responsive to the needs of families.
